We are excited to introduce the new MD.be board!
In spring 2026, the new MD.be board was elected for a three-year term (2026–2029) by 33 full members representing 19 different laboratories. We were delighted to receive 18 applications for the 15 available board positions. This strong interest reflects the enthusiasm and commitment within our community to contribute to the continued growth of MD.be.
The newly elected board brings together a valuable mix of experienced members and fresh perspectives. We are pleased that many colleagues are continuing their commitment to MD.be, ensuring continuity while bringing renewed energy and ideas to the team. We are also delighted to welcome five new board members: Annelynn Wallaert, Jozef Dingemans, Koen Swaerts, Matthieu Terwagne and Toon Janssen. Two of them bring expertise in bioinformatics, a discipline that has been underrepresented on the board in previous years. Their involvement further broadens the expertise represented within MD.be.
With this renewed team, we look forward to organising inspiring meetings, supporting both existing and new working groups, and creating opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange. Together with all of you, we are excited to continue strengthening the molecular diagnostics community and further improving the quality of molecular
diagnostics in Belgium.
